This game was made in 7 days for the 8 Bits to Infinity: Puzzle Jam

Theme: Black and White

You are a ghost hunter that uses a special camera your Grandfather gave you to take pictures of spirits and trap them in a photo. This job has extra tricky ghosts that steal your camera. Make your way through puzzle levels to get your camera back. And don't forget to take their picture.

About the theme:

As a former photographer when I hear black and white I think of the large 4x5 viewfinder cameras I used in college. At the same time I played a game called Fatal Frame 2 where you fight ghosts by taking their picture. And that was the inspiration to make a silly game about getting your camera back.

If you get stuck there is a full play through here showing all intended solutions. **Obviously Spoilers**

love it. thanks for the monkey!

you should add a skip cutscene button

I cant pick up!

pretty good game but 1 question that kinda concerns me:

why was the fan speed dropped? the coolmathgames version has the fan launching you pretty fast, but this version and other versions it's much slower

The one on CoolMathGames is an updated version. I haven't updated this post so it's still the original jam version.

brilliant! Loved to play it.

its a really fun game!

I love this game but in the first level of each set you can use the arrow key to move camera to to skip it, bit it only works sometimes

Cute and fun

Thank you!

these look like 0x72's sprites but ghostified xd nice

They are. I really like the 0x72 style and it helped give the base.

Fun little puzzle game! Some of the puzzle were real had scratchers and I had to watch a guide to get through them. Very well done! Hope you enjoy my videos!

Loved the game, so much fun to play!

I got stumped a few times, but managed to figure them out!  (with the occasional hint help)

I would like to have the arrow keys work for movement too, as this is much easier for myself and I'm assuming other left handed players.

I meant to add that and completely forgot. Sorry about that.

This game is great, I've stuck in a few places, because of the lack of vision, but after one or two restarts I've managed to complete. I think the game could be more accessible, if only, picking up an item doesn't remove the currently holded one. Nevertheless, the art, gameplay and whole idea are awesome.

I went back and forth with holding more items. I went with one because of the limitation helping the puzzles but I don't think I nailed that aspect super well. Thanks for playing and glad you liked it.

This was so much fun! I really liked the story and the art style was so nice. It was nice to also have the hints there in case you needed them (which I did haha), over all a very fun game keep up the good work :D

I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)

Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it. I will check out GDWC.

I played this game yesterday but couldn't write a comment cuz had to go but: Loved the art, it's amazing, love the 3 items, they are very fun to use but when having a box on a spring it's really hard to get back on, sometimes I had to try for a full minute untill I finally could hop on again, the fan is a fun idea to but wish it would lift you up a bit faster cuz when restarting a level and when you need to go up a section it became boring really fast but all in all, very fun game!

The box on spring problem was something I was worried about. Sorry it was a problem. The fans are a bit slow, I was worried if they were too fast it could be too difficult and probably over corrected too far. Thanks for the feedback!

Great game, fun mechanics, lovely graphics and fun narrative!

I really liked that I could sometimes beat a puzzle with unused pieces. That made me feel really "smart" at times haha. I also love how everything interacts with each other, gives it that emergent kind of feel. Also, the hints are awesome, a great addition to any puzzle game I reckon!

The cutscenes at the beginning of a new 'world' become quite lengthy when you have to sit through them when you keep dying in those levels. I sometimes got stuck because of the fan's air current width, it seems a bit bigger than the graphic shows, but restarting is quite quick luckily :)

I'd love to see you build upon this with more levels and possibly different ways of winning stages! I'd be hooked

Thanks for the feedback. I get what you mean about the start of each world. I was hoping to have it only happen once but didn't get it implemented in time.

Getting stuck with the fans was another issue that showed up at the end (late stage level redesigns) and could definitely be tweaked.

Glad you liked it.

Absolutely loved it!

Thank you!

Loved it. Really cool puzzles.

Thank you very much!
